Yield Trial Evaluation of Field Corn Pre-commercial Variety in Upper Northern Provinces Zone 2: Chiang Rai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan

Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify high potential pre-commercial field corn hybrid for the certification, acceptance of agriculture and future advise farmers in the upper northern areas. On- farm trials for pre-commercial field corn hybrid varieties suitable for the areas in the upper northern region were conducted between 2018 and 2019. The analysis technique employed was a Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 replications. The results obtained from 8 testing locations showed the 5 highest yielding varieties: UPMI29, UPMI26, UPMI18, UPMI27, and UPMI19. The averaging yields of green weight of the 5 varieties were 1,417, 1,189, 1,185, 1,178 and 1,148 kg/rai, as compared with the average yield from comparative varieties: KSX5720, KSX5614, P3582, CP639, NSX052014, NSX152011, NS3, NSX152097, NK6253, Ku1, Ku2, PAC139, and DK9898C. Comparable yield levels were as follows: 1,064, 965, 1,124, 1,112, 1,162, 1,049, 984, 1,077, 1,007, 1,165, 1,109, 1,173, and 1,077 kg./rai respectively. Although this figure was small, it was statistically significant. While, the combining ability was evaluated for fifteen hybrids, then yield trial assessment was dry season 2018. Finally, Ki60 was good GCA for yield.

จากการปลูกทดสอบพันธุ์ข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์ลูกผสมภายใต้โครงการปรับปรุงพันธุ์ข้าวโพดมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา (University of Phayao Maize Improvement, UMPI) ที่เหมาะสมกับภาคเหนือตอนบนเขต 2 จังหวัดเชียงราย พะเยา แพร่ และน่าน ในไร่เกษตรกรร่วมกับพันธุ์เปรียบเทียบ รวมทั้ง 8 แหล่งปลูก ระหว่างปี 2561-2562 วางแผนการทดลองแบบสุ่มในบล็อคสมบูรณ์ จำนวน 3 ซ้ำ เพื่อทดสอบพันธุ์ข้าวโพดเลี้ยงสัตว์ลูกผสมที่เหมาะสมกับภาคเหนือตอนบน พบว่า คู่ผสมที่ให้ผลผลิตสูง 5 อันดับแรก ได้แก่ UPMI29, UPMI26, UPMI18, UPMI27, และ UPMI19 ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 1,417, 1,189, 1,185, 1,178, และ 1,148 กก./ไร่ ตามลำดับ ขณะที่พันธุ์เปรียบเทียบ KSX5720, KSX5614, P3582, CP639, NSX052014, NSX152011, NS3, NSX152097, NK6253, KU1, KU2, PAC139, และ DK9898C ให้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 1,064, 965, 1,124, 1,112, 1,162, 1,049, 984, 1,077, 1,007, 1,165, 1,109, 1,173, และ 1,077 ตามลำดับ ประเมินสมรรถนะการผสมของตัวทดสอบ จากการผสมแบบพบกันหมดได้คู่ผสมจำนวน 15 คู่ผสม ปลูกทดสอบผลผลิตในฤดูแล้ง 2018D การประเมินสมรรถนะการผสม พบว่าสายพันธุ์ Ki60 ให้ค่าสมรรถนะการผสมทั่วไปของผลผลิตดีที่สุด
