Factors Effecting the Happiness of the Elderly in Nakhon Chiang Mai Manucipality, Chiang Mai

Abstract

This thesis aimed at studying the internal and external factors in the elderly care effecting the happiness undertaken by Nakhon Chiang Mai Municipality and analyzing the factors affecting the happiness of the elderly therein. The area of study covers four sub-districts in Nakhon Chiang Mai Municipality. This thesis employed the mixed method. The study revealed that most informants were male average 52.7 % with average age 82.63, working in agricultural area 50.4 % and government officers 21.7. They mostly obtained the primary education with average 51.2% and the bachelor degree average 17.4%, with the monthly income average 8,747.29 Thai Baht. For the factors affecting the happiness, the internal factors which were the self-care and the family care were at a good level as well as the physical and spiritual happiness. Most of the elderly had happiness and self-esteem while living among the social group. For the external factors, it was found that the economic factors affected spiritual happiness with the statistic significance at 0.01, whereas the social and government supports affected the spiritual happiness with statistic significance at 0.05 and 0.01, respectively. For the results obtained from the interview of 20 elderly, it was found that most were 12 males and 8 females, aged 60-80 years, with the primary education and working in the agricultural area. The most interviewees reflected that the physical fitness, warm family, sufficient income, social status, self-esteem, and social welfare lead to the happiness for the elderly.

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยภายในและภายนอกเกี่ยวกับสภาพการดูแลผู้สูงอายุที่เกี่ยวข้องกับความสุขของผู้สูงอายุของเทศบาลนครเชียงใหม่และเพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยภายในและภายนอกที่ส่งผลต่อของผู้สูงอายุของเทศบาลนครเชียงใหม่ โดยกำหนดพื้นที่การศึกษาในเทศบาลนครเชียงใหม่จำนวน 4 แขวง เป็นการวิจัยแบบผสานวิธี ผลการศึกษาพบว่าผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชายคิดเป็นร้อยละ 52.7 มีอายุเฉลี่ย 82.63 ปี ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม คิดเป็นร้อยละ 50.4 รองลงมาประกอบอาชีพข้าราชการ/พนักงานรัฐ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 21.7 ด้านการศึกษาอยู่ในระดับประถมศึกษา คิดเป็นร้อยละ 51.2 รองลงมาอยู่ในระดับปริญญาตรี คิดเป็น ร้อยละ 17.4 ผู้สูงอายุส่วนใหญ่มีรายได้เฉลี่ย 8,747.29 บาท ต่อเดือน ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อความสุขได้แก่ ปัจจัยภายใน คือด้านการดูแลสุขภาพตนเองและด้านคุณภาพชีวิตครอบครัวอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมาก(3.41-4.20) และด้านเศรษฐกิจอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยปานกลาง(2.61-3.40) ส่วนปัจจัยภายนอกด้านสังคมและด้านการช่วยเหลือจากรัฐอยู่ในระดับดี และความสุขทางกายและทางจิตใจของผู้สูงอายุอยู่ในระดับเห็นด้วยมาก(3.41-4.20) ผู้สูงอายุส่วนใหญ่มีความสุขและอุ่นใจเมื่ออยู่ร่วมกันหลายๆคนมากกว่าการอยู่คนเดียว ส่วนผลการวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อความสุข พบว่าปัจจัยภายในด้านเศรษฐกิจส่งผลต่อความสุขทางจิตใจอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ 0.01 เท่านั้น และปัจจัยภายนอกด้านสังคมและด้านการช่วยเหลือจากรัฐส่งผลต่อความสุขทางจิตใจ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ 0.05 และ 0.01 ตามลำดับ ข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกจำนวน 20 คน พบว่าส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย 12 คนและเพศหญิง 8 คน อายุระหว่าง 60-80 ปี ส่วนใหญ่จบการศึกษาระดับชั้นประถมศึกษา อาชีพส่วนใหญ่คือเกษตรกรรม ผู้สูงอายุส่วนใหญ่เห็นว่าการมีสุขภาพร่างกายที่แข็งแรงสมบูรณ์ การมีครอบครัวที่คอยดูแลเอาใจใส่ การมีรายได้เพียงพอต่อความต้องการแบบไม่เป็นภาระของลูกหลาน เป็นที่ยอมรับในชุมชน สังคม มีความภาคภูมิใจในตนเอง มีการได้รับความช่วยเหลือด้านสวัสดิการต่างๆ ส่งผลให้ผู้สูงอายุมีความสุข
