DEVELOPMENT APPROACHES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO INCREASING COMPETITIVENESS CAPABILITY FOR THAI TRANSPORTATION OF FRESH DURIAN TO THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Abstract

This independent research study on development approaches and opportunities to increasing competitive capability for Thai transportation of fresh durian to the People's Republic of China aims to: (1) examine the current state of fresh durian transportation from Thailand to the People's Republic of China; (2) analyze factors influencing competitive capability in Thai durian transportation through SWOT analysis; and (3) propose development approaches to increase competitive capability of the Thai durian transportation system. This research employed qualitative research methodology by collecting data through in-depth interviews with stakeholders in the fresh durian supply chain from Thailand to the People's Republic of China, and conducting content analysis to synthesize the research findings.

The findings revealed that Thai transportation possesses high potential to serve as a central hub for aggregation and export of fresh durian to China. However, the transportation system still faces constraints in terms of transportation time, costs, product quality control, and sustainability of cold chain systems. The competitive capability of Thai durian transportation depends on systematic management throughout the supply chain more than the efficiency of individual business operators. The important development approaches include: upgrading cold chain systems, developing integrated multimodal transportation routes, and strengthening cooperation between public and private sectors, which will enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support the development of competitive capability in fresh durian transportation from Thailand to the Chinese market in the long term.

การศึกษาค้นคว้าด้วยตนเองเรื่อง แนวทางการพัฒนาและโอกาสการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของการขนส่งทุเรียนสดจากประเทศไทยไปยังสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1)ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันของการขนส่งทุเรียนสดจากประเทศไทยไปยังสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน 2)วิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของการขนส่งทุเรียนไทยโดยการวิเคราะห์SWOT 3)เสนอแนวทางพัฒนาเพื่อขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของระบบขนส่งทุเรียนไทย การวิจัยนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึกผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องในห่วงโซ่อุปทานการขนส่งทุเรียนสดจากประเทศไทยไปยังสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน และนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์เชิงเนื้อหาเพื่อสังเคราะห์ผลการศึกษา ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การขนส่งประเทศไทยมีศักยภาพสูงในการเป็นพื้นที่ศูนย์กลางด้านการรวบรวมและส่งออกทุเรียนสดไปยังประเทศจีน อย่างไรก็ตาม ระบบการขนส่งยังเผชิญกับข้อจำกัดด้านระยะเวลา ต้นทุน การควบคุมคุณภาพผลผลิต และความต่อเนื่องของระบบห่วงโซ่ความเย็น โดยความสามารถในการแข่งขันของการขนส่งทุเรียนไทยขึ้นอยู่กับการบริหารจัดการเชิงระบบตลอดห่วงโซ่อุปทานมากกว่าประสิทธิภาพของผู้ประกอบการรายใดรายหนึ่ง แนวทางการพัฒนาที่สำคัญ ได้แก่ การยกระดับระบบห่วงโซ่ความเย็น การพัฒนาเส้นทางการขนส่งแบบผสมผสาน และการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน ซึ่งจะช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ ลดต้นทุน และสนับสนุนการพัฒนาขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของการขนส่งทุเรียนสดจากประเทศไทยไปยังตลาดจีนในระยะยาว
