The Development of Learning Activities Based on Community- Based Learning with Critical Pedagogy to Promote Global Citizenship for Grade 9 Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop community-based learning activities with critical pedagogy to promote global citizenship characteristics of Grade 9 students; 2) to study global citizenship characteristics of Grade 9 students exposed to community-based learning activities with critical pedagogy using a mixed method research. The target group of this research was 19 students from Grade 9 of Chumchombanmaekaowtomluang School, Semester 1, Academic Year 2023, selected by purposive sampling. The research instruments were 1) learning activities, 2) global citizenship characteristics assessment form, and 3) semi-structured interview questions. The statistics used in quantitative data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and non-parametric Wilcoxon-signed rank test. Meanwhile, the qualitative data were descriptive analytics. The results of the research were as follows: 1. Community-based learning activities with critical pedagogy were appropriate at the highest level, 2. The global citizenship characteristics of Grade 9 students were higher than before the activities at the .05 significance level. It was found that the learning activities resulted in students being aware of the environment, adhering to sustainable development, valuing and respecting differences, and having pluralist citizenship at the local, national and global levels.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนากิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดชุมชนเป็นฐานร่วมกับการศึกษาเชิงวิพากษ์ที่ส่งเสริมคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลกของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 2) ศึกษาคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลก ของนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ที่ใช้กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดชุมชนเป็นฐานร่วมกับการศึกษาเชิงวิพากษ์ โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมผสานวิธี กลุ่มเป้าหมายในการวิจัย คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โรงเรียนชุมชนบ้านแม่ข้าวต้มหลวง ที่กำลังศึกษาในภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2566 จำนวน 19 คน จากการเลือกแบบเจาะจง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 2) แบบประเมินคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลก 3) แนวคำถามการสัมภาษณ์แบบกึ่งโครงสร้าง สถิตที่ใช้วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การทดสอบค่าสถิติแบบนอนพาราเมตริก Wilcoxon-signed rank test และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยวิธีวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. กิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดชุมชนเป็นฐานร่วมกับการศึกษาเชิงวิพากษ์ มีความเหมาะสมในระดับมากที่สุด 2. คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลกของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 สูงกว่าก่อนเรียน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติระดับ .05 และกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ส่งผลให้นักเรียนตระหนักถึงสิ่งแวดล้อม ยึดมั่นในการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน เห็นคุณค่า เคารพในความแตกต่าง และมีความเป็นพหุพลเมืองทั้งระดับท้องถิ่น ชาติ และโลก
