VARIETY OF LINGUISTIC CULTURES PRESENTED IN THAI SOAP OPERA

Abstract

The purposes of the study were to study the variety of language in Thai soap operas’ script and to study the intertextuality in Thai soap operas’ script. The researcher analyzed data from sixteen Thai soap operas’ script. The concepts and theories utilized in the research were the concept of the variety of language script and the concept of intertextuality in the Thai soap operas’ script. The results of the research were summarized into two main aspects: the variety of language in Thai soap operas and the intertextuality in Thai soap operas’ script. 1) Language variety in Thai soap operas: it was discovered that there are four types of language variety: sub-languages based on social factors, Thai dialects, jargon languages, and old and new languages, which make the story of Thai soap operas more interesting and allow the characters to express their emotions in the same manner as people in society. 2) The intertextuality in Thai soap operas’ script are divided into three primary issues. 1) The intertextuality of language mechanisms in scripts for Thai soap operas revealed six types: reference, repetition, omission, substitution, terminology, and conjunction. 2) The intertextuality in the elements of literature in Thai soap operas’ script revealed four elements: character intertextuality, scene intertextuality, dialogue intertextuality, and rhetoric intertextuality. 3) The intertextuality of social elements in the script can be seen in five aspects: culture and tradition in Thai society, family in Thai society, education in Thai society, working system in Thai society, and entertainment in Thai lifestyle. By employing a variety of language intertextuality, it is possible to reflect the way of life and language culture, thereby enabling the learners to comprehend events with greater clarity.

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ของการวิจัยเพื่อศึกษาความหลากหลายของภาษาตัวบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ และเพื่อศึกษาสัมพันธบทในตัวบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ที่ปรากฏเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร จำนวน 16 เรื่อง ใช้แนวคิดความหลากหลายของภาษาตัวบท และแนวคิดสัมพันธบทในตัว บทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ มาประยุกต์ใช้ในการวิจัย ผลการวิจัยโดยสรุปแบ่งเป็น 2 ประเด็นหลัก ดังนี้ 1) ความหลากหลายของภาษาในบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ พบว่าในบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์มีความหลากหลายของภาษา 4 ประการ คือ ภาษาย่อยตามปัจจัยสังคม ภาษาถิ่นไทย ภาษาเฉพาะกลุ่ม และภาษาเก่าและภาษาใหม่ที่ส่งเสริม ทำให้เนื้อเรื่องของบทละครไทยโทรทัศน์ต่าง ๆ มีความน่าสนใจ และตัวละครในเนื้อเรื่องสามารถถ่ายทอดอารมณ์ความรู้สึกได้เฉกเช่นเดียวกับผู้คนในสังคม 2) สัมพันธบทของภาษากับวิถีชีวิตไทยจากละครไทยโทรทัศน์ ผู้วิจัยแบ่งออกเป็น 3 ประเด็นหลัก ได้แก่ 1) ผลการศึกษาสัมพันธบทโดยกลไกของภาษาในบทละครโทรทัศน์ พบสัมพันธบทโดยกลไกของภาษา 6 ประการ คือ การอ้างถึง การซ้ำ การละ การแทนที่ การใช้ศัพท์ และการใช้คำเชื่อม 2) ผลการศึกษาสัมพันธบทในองค์ประกอบของวรรณกรรมตัวบทในบทละครโทรทัศน์ พบ สัมพันธบทในองค์ประกอบ 4 ประการ คือ สัมพันธบทตัวละคร สัมพันธบทฉาก สัมพันธบทบทสนทนา และสัมพันธบทศิลปะ การใช้โวหารในการดำเนินเรื่อง 3) ผลการศึกษาสัมพันธบทในองค์ประกอบทางสังคมในบทละคร พบสัมพันธบทในองค์ประกอบสังคม 5 ด้าน คือ ด้านวัฒนธรรมประเพณีในสังคมไทย ด้านครอบครัวในสังคมไทย ด้านการศึกษาในสังคมไทย ด้านระบบการทำงานในสังคมไทย และด้านความบันเทิงในวิถีชีวิตไทย โดยลักษณะการใช้ภาษา สัมพันธบทที่หลากหลายสามารถสะท้อนภาพการดำเนินชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมทางถ้อยคำภาษาให้ผู้ศึกษาได้เข้าใจเหตุการณ์ได้อย่างแจ่มแจ้งยิ่งขึ้น
